Established in 2002, the Friends of the Fort Myers Library is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization working to promote, support and enhance library services for the Fort Myers Regional Library.
Friends help raise funds to upgrade equipment and materials that supplement
the regular library budget in order to meet the ongoing educational needs of
our community. This can only be done through membership support and fundraising activities, which include book sales and our participation in the Amazon Associates program.
Friends make it possible for you to enjoy special events at the library including
art shows, musical performances, guest author programs, book discussions and other special lectures.
An annual pre-holiday Book Sale is usually scheduled in the month of November, while "sidewalk sales" of gently loved donated books are planned as Saturday events throughout the year.
With the current economic downturn and reduction in all Lee County budgets, it is even more important for us to be able to step up and provide those items that are not in the budget.
Membership in the Friends of the Fort Myers Library is open to all individuals, families, organizations and businesses wishing to provide support for library programs and services.
